EDISON, N.J. — Junior attacker Rachel MacCheyne has been named MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after stellar performances against Siena and Monmouth.

MacCheyne led the Purple Eagles with 10 goals and four assists as the team went 2-0 to bump their record in conference play to 4-1. MacCheyne’s four goals against Siena came on just seven shots, and her five draw controls helped the team win 20 of their 26 draws against the Saints on April 11. Against the Hawks, MacCheyne tied her season high with eight points (6 G, 2 A) on 10 shots, netting the game-winner and converting three of her five free position attempts.

The Purple Eagles – who are 7-7 overall – are currently third in the MAAC standings. Their next game will be Wednesday, April 18 at Marist, who hold an identical 4-1 record in the MAAC but currently sit in second place.
