CHESTER, P.A. — Robert Liebel (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) won the 100-meter dash and helped lead the 4×100-meter relay to a victory to push Buffalo State to a fourth-place finish in the 10-team Widener University Chester Quarry Classic today as temperatures topped 80 degrees.

NOTABLES:

  • Liebel raced to a victory in the 100-meter dash, clocking 11.12 seconds, followed closely by teammate Eric Vassell (Bronx/Mt. St. Michael) in second in 11.16 seconds.
  • Liebel and Vassell joined Elijah Lawal (Duanesburg/Duanesburg) and Benjamin Fairweather (Brooklyn/Kurt Hahn Expeditionary) to win 4×100-meter relay in 42.35 seconds.
  • Liebel was also second in the 200-meter dash (22.03).
  • Cody Sikora (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) posted the nation’s 20th fastest time entering today to cross second in the 400-meter dash in 48.90 seconds.
  • Fairweather also earned a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.44).
  • Benaleo Daniels (Binghamton/Binghamton) and T.J. Kmitch (Derby/Lake Shore) placed fourth (1:00.24) and fifth (1:00.45) respectively in the 400-meter hurdles.
  • Nick Gray (Williamsville/Williamsville South) placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.71).
