BUFFALO, N.Y. — For the second straight week and the third time in the last four weeks, UB’s duo of Petr Vodak and Vidit Vaghela have been honored as the Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week. Yesterday, the pair earned its first national ranking by the ITA as they are currently 64th in the nation.
Vodak and Vaghela took down another nationally ranked opponent as they defeated Jack Lin and William Matheson from Columbia at first doubles on Friday, 6-4. The Columbia pair entered the match ranked 34th nationally. They are now 7-3 at first doubles and 10-3 overall.
The Bulls have won MAC Doubles Team of the Week four straight weeks, including three times from Vodak and Vaghela. Ethan Nittolo and Hao Sheng Koayalso claimed the honor once.
Fans will have their first opportunity to see the nationally ranked duo and the rest of the Bulls as they will host a pair of conference matches this weekend. The Bulls will face Binghamton on Friday at 4pm and Toledo on Saturday at 1pm. Both matches will take place at the Miller Tennis Center.
