WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — The Niagara University women’s tennis team earned its first MAAC win of the season with an emphatic 7-0 win over the Monmouth Hawks.
 
Match Summary

  • Niagara won the doubles point after winning all three doubles matches.
  • Niagara’s No. 1 team of Stella Peisakhova and Andreea Peteu cruised to a 6-0 win while the No. 3 team of Ali Hutchinson and Chhinda Som won 6-3.
  • The team of Sharlee Deshmukh and Shannon Wong edged its opponent, 7-5, in two doubles.
  • The Purple Eagles won all six singles matches in straight sets.
  • Peisakhova won her match, 6-2, 6-1, in one singles.
  • Peteu topped Sophia Fredriksson, 6-0, 6-1, in two singles.
  • Som beat Chinonye Gabriel in No. 3 singles.
  • Wong defeated Maria Ivanova, 6-4, 6-1, in five singles.
  • Deshmukh earned a 6-0, 6-4 win over Caroline Mattise.
