NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara softball team begins MAAC play on Saturday, March 31, taking on the Siena Saints in a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
  • Niagara played a doubleheader at Cleveland State on March 28. NU fell to the Vikings in game one, 3-, before bouncing back with a 9-0 shutout victory in game two.

On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles (7-18, 0-0 MAAC)
  • Jennifer Timm and Kelsey Harrigan lead the Purple Eagles in hits with 20 each.
  • Jerri Ann Orfano leads the team in RBIs with 20 and in homeruns with five. She is tied for second-most homeruns in the MAAC and has the third-most RBIs.
  • Kendall Watkins has a team-high 19 runs scored, which is tied for third-most in the conference.
  • In the circle, Sierra Bertrand (3-6) leads the Purple Eagle pitching staff with 35 strikeouts in 53.0 innings pitched. She has an ERA of 3.83.
  • Karsen Cotton (3-6) has fanned 26 in 50.1 innings pitched.

On the Field: Siena Saints (5-13, 0-0 MAAC)
  • Madysen Cossack leads the Saints in hits with 23. She also has a team-high 14 RBIs and four homeruns.
  • Lauren Sabihon leads Siena in runs scored with 11.
  • In the circle, Maddie McMahon (2-3) leads the pitching staff with 35 strikeouts and a 3.23 ERA.
  • Lauren Butts (2-5) leads the Saint pitching staff in innings pitched with 38.0.
