Junior pitcher Ally Power held the Eagles hitless through all five innings. She struck out five and walked three batters as she notched the Bulls first no-hitter since assistant coach Tori Speckman threw a no-no during her senior season at Buffalo. Eastern Michigan’s lone run came in the top of the third when Olivia Logan recorded a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Casey Skeens to come home.
The Bulls got out to a strong start in the bottom of the first when freshman Anna Aguon recorded a 2-out 2-RBI double to left field. They continues to attack when junior Catrell Robertson doubled to left center scoring Aguon.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Bulls had the bases loaded with senior Danielle Lallos at the dish. She recorded a 3-RBI double down the right field line but was tagged out at third trying to stretch her double into a triple.
As the afternoon got colder, the Bulls found themselves in another two-out bases loaded situation during the bottom of the fifth. Senior Leandra Jew recorded and RBI base on balls to score Alissa Karjel. Sophomore Jessica Goldyn then went first pitch swinging to score Alyssa Cuevas and Taylor Scott and win the ball game.
The Bulls will close out their weekend series against the Eagles tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00pm at Dobson Field.
