INDIANAPOLIS, I.N. — Buffalo State senior Connor Mergler (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) became Buffalo State’s first five-time swimming All-American today as he finished seventh in the 200 free at the NCAA Division III Championships at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Natatorium.
 
Mergler set school and SUNYAC records with the third-fastest time in the morning prelims, clocking 1:37.87 and the posted a time of 1:38.44 to place seventh in the evening finals.  It is his second time earning All-America honors in this event, having previously captured honorable mention status placing 16th in 2016.
 
Mergler will close out his collegiate career on Saturday in the 100 free.  He enters the event with the fourth-fastest time in the nation.
