AMHERST TIMES

Friends,

My name is Marc Cohen and as a lifelong Democrat and resident of the Town of Amherst, I have lived the issues that matter most to the 146th District. Responsible development and preservation of green-space, economic opportunity and upgraded infrastructure – we need representation in Albany eager and qualified to make needed change. Over the last few months I have spoken with folks inside and outside the district to seek their input on how best to make lasting, positive change. It is as a result of these conversations and others that I am seeking your support to run as the Democratic nominee in the 146th Assembly District.

When I turned 18 I joined the Amherst Democratic Committee and have served as the Social Media Coordinator ever since. Soon thereafter I joined Chairman Zellner’s Executive Committee. Throughout the years I have been an active member of groups like the Amherst Youth Board, the Youth Consortium, and the Youth Court. I currently serve on the Open Government Advisory Board and as a voting member of the SUNY Board of Trustees.

I love our town and know that we can be better represented at the state level, which is why I humbly seek your support for the 146th District. I realize there are other individuals who may be vying for this seat, and I have no interest in fracturing our party. There is a path to victory for Democrats in this district and we owe it to ourselves to have the strongest possible person running. Giving you a choice, debating the tough issues, and preparing for the general election is the most effective way to ensure we take the seat.

I hope to see many of you on Wednesday at our meeting, and look forward to engaging in a dialogue about how we can strengthen our town, district, and state.

Best,

Marc Cohen
