SHERMAN — A 28-year-old Lyons man was charged Monday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on I-86.
According to the police report, Michael Collett was pulled over for speeding and while speaking to Collett, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. Upon a search of Collett and his vehicle, the following items were located: a glass pipe containing concentrated cannabis, a cylinder cup containing concentrated cannabis residue, a pipe containing marijuana residue and 26 grams of marijuana. Collett was placed under arrest, transported to SP Jamestown and processed. Collett was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the town of Sherman Court later in the month.
