BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo wrestling team hits the road for a pair of duals to close out the week. The Bulls will wrestle at fourth-ranked Missouri on Thursday night followed by a dual at SIU-Edwardsville on Friday.
Buffalo is 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference. The Bulls are coming off a 25-13 win at Columbia on Saturday. True freshman Nick Palumbo sparked Buffalo with a major decision win in his first career dual match to open the dual. The Bulls added four other major decision and a fall in the win.
Missouri, ranked fourth in the nation, is 12-0 and is coming off a 27-11 win over Cornell on December 30. The Tigers have six wrestlers ranked in the top 10 nationally, led by 141-pounder Jaydin Eierman who is ranked second in the nation. The Bulls are looking for their first ever win over the Tigers, trailing 5-0 in the all-time series. Missouri won the last meeting 28-8 at Alumni Arena last season.
On Friday, the Bulls will wrestle at SIU-Edwardsville. The Cougars are 2-7 on the season and are coming off a 31-3 loss to Kent State on December 30. SIU-Edwardsville is led by 197-pounder Christian Dulaney who is 11-6 on the season.
Buffalo leads the all-time series with SIU-Edwardsville, 2-0. The Bulls won the last meeting, 27-12, in 2013.
