Five Buffalo women were charged Tuesday and Wednesday by New York State Police for their actions and participation in a forged and fraudulent check scheme resulting on the theft of over $22,000.00.

On February 22, 2017 the New York State Police, Warsaw began an investigation into a complaint received from the Institution Steward at Attica Correctional Facility, Attica NY and from the Five Star Bank, Attica NY relative to a large number of forged checks purportedly issued on the facility’s Inmate Spendable Account that were deposited in a number of banks and then withdrawn later as cash by a number of City of Buffalo residents.

BRIONNA D. DREWITT, age 20 of Buffalo, NY was arrested for Scheme to Defraud 1st, (class E felony), Conspiracy 5th, (class A misdemeanor), and two accounts of Grand Larceny 4th (class E Felony).

SEARRA T. MALLORY, age19 of Buffalo, NY was arrested for Scheme to Defraud 1st, (class E felony), Conspiracy 5th, (class A misdemeanor), Grand Larceny 3rd (class D Felony) and Grand Larceny 4th (class E Felony).

PHILLESHA L. JACKSON, age 23, of Buffalo, NY was arrested for Scheme to Defraud 1st, (class E felony), Conspiracy 5th, (class A misdemeanor), Grand Larceny 3rd (class D Felony) and Attempted Petit Larceny (class A Misdemeanor).

JONYSHA M. RICHARDSON, age 22, of Buffalo, NY was arrested for Scheme to Defraud 1st, (class E felony), Conspiracy 5th, (class A misdemeanor), Grand Larceny 3rd (class D Felony), Attempted Petit Larceny (class A Misdemeanor) and Attempted Identity Theft 1st (class E Felony)

TRESHANIQUE T. MOORE, age 21, of Buffalo NY was charged with Hindering Prosecution 3rd (class D Felony).

All defendants surrendered themselves at State Police barracks in Warsaw, NY, were arrested, processed and then arraigned in Wyoming County court by Judge Michael M Mohun. All defendants were released from custody at that time and are scheduled to re-appear in county court on January 11, 2018.
