A 28-year-old Randolph man was charged Christmas Eve with driving while intoxicated.

According to New York State Police, Troopers responded to I-86 for a report of a vehicle parked in the eastbound lane of travel. Upon arrival, the Troopers located the vehicle running with Westley Bennett asleep at the wheel.

Bennett was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests and transported to SP Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of .14 percent. Bennett was then processed, issued tickets returnable to the town of Randolph Court and released. He is scheduled to appear in the town of Randolph Court next month.
