Roger “Rock” Wagner passed away Thursday December 7. The son of Edgar and Rachel Wagner, Rock was born in Niagara Falls but lived most of his life in Lockport.

Roger retired from Harrison in 1998 after 36 years of work where he held several elected and appointed positions including: UAW Internationally appointed Joint Activities Representative, Senior Quality of Work Life Administer, Committeeman, Shop Committeeman, Shop Committee Chair, and 1st Vice President Amalgamated Local 686. After retirement, Rock worked several years for Niagara Hospice as Maintenance Coordinator. Rock continued as a Niagara Hospice volunteer earning the Hospice Foundation Outstanding Volunteer Award. Rock also worked several years at the Niagara County Board of Elections as Niagara County Democratic Voting Machine Technician. Rock was also past Chair of the Town of Lockport Democratic Committee. His countless hours of unwavering principles to the success of the Town of Lockport Democratic Committee earned him the “Sparkplug” Award and also the Lifetime Achievement Award. Past Board member of the YMCA, Past President of the UAW Archery League and member of the Wilson Island Yacht Club, Rock’s other interests included golf, archery and the outdoors.

Rock is survived by his wife Jerilynn Wagner, His children Jeffrey (Krissan) and Susan Wagner of Nevada, Grandchildren Bryan Branch of Lockport, Jessy Hall and Rachel Chew of Nevada, Jordan Branch of Lockport, Brothers David (Sharon) Peter (Kathy) Wagner of Lockport, many cousins, nephews nieces and dear friends. Roger was pre-deceased by daughter Michelle Branch.

Family and Friends may call at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee St. Lockport on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. where a celebration of life will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
