Mark your calendar and remember to get out and vote on November 7th between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
The biggest race for the people of Amherst is for two Town Board seats and for Supervisor of our Town.

SUPERVISOR RACE
The race for Town Supervisor has been a tough fight between Williamsville Mayor Brian Kulpa and Town Clerk Marjory Jaeger.

Kulpa has been serving in village government for the past nine years.  He is also a senior associate with Clark Patterson Lee, an architecture, engineering and planning firm.

Kulpa said if he is elected he will work with individual neighborhoods to create plans ensuring responsible re-development and protection of flood plains and green space.

His name will be on the Democratis, Green, Working Families and Women’s Equality party lines.
Marjory Jaeger has been a fine town clerk.

Town Board         
The Amherst Town Board will have two new members.  In addition to Debbie Bucki and Fran Spoth there will be two new members and, of course, a new Supervisor

The two seats on the Town Board are being sought by Bill Kindel, Shawn Lavin and Jacqui Berger, Erin Baker and Joseph Spino.

Kindel, chairman of the Amherst Conservative Party since 2011, previously served town government in the roles of council member and clerk. He will be on the Conservative party line.

Lavin is a senior special investigator for the Office of Medicaid Inspector General, in where he audits Medicaid providers against New York State compliance standards. Additionally, he serves as a lieutenant in the Air National Guard 107th Attack Wing. He is running on the Democrat, Green, Working Families and Women’s Equality party lines.

Jackie Berger is a mentor/faculty member at SUNY Empire State College. She has a Master of Education degree in early childhood and special education from Tulane University. She is also a volunteer for baseball programs in town. She is on the Democrat, Green, Working Families and Women’s Equality party lines.

Erin Baker is now chief of staff to Amherst Assemblyman Ray Walter, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office, assists constituents and coordinates community outreach events. She will be on the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform party lines.

Spino is employed at the Erie County District Attorney’s Office and has also been a budget analyst for county government in addition to being an adviser for the County Legislature. He will be on the Republican, Independence and Reform party lines.
