The Bisons were silenced by an offensive barrage from the RailRiders losing 7-0 on an Independence Day matchup Tuesday at PNC Field

Despite allowing three runs in the first inning, starter Brett Oberholtzer managed to pitch 6.2 innings for the Herd. However, he yeilded seven runs on nine hits with a pair of walks. Oberholtzer struck out five but picked up the loss, moving his record to 1-6 this season.

The RailRiders recorded two doubles and a triple scoring three runs off of Oberholtzer to go up 3-0 in the first inning.

With a leadoff triple by first baseman Cito Culver, the RailRiders pushed across another run in the bottom of the third. Miguel Andujar singled up the middle to drive Culver home.

After a double and a walk, the RailRiders were in position to do some more damage in the seventh. With two outs, Culver delivered his second triple of the game this time bringing home two runs. The ensuing batter Donovan Solano hit a base knock to right allowing the runner on third to score and extending their advantage to 7-0 over the Herd.

The Bisons will take on Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre in game two of the series Wednesday night. First Pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Bisons Notes: Gregorio Petit was ejected for an altercation with the home plate umpire in the middle of the fourth inning.
