Elmer R. “Dick” Dye passed away on Saturday June 17, 2017. Born in Soldier, Pa., on November 21, 1932, he was the son of the late Urald and Della Stuchil Dye.

Dick served in the US Army from 1953 until1955 and worked in production at Harrison Radiator for 32 years, retiring in1988. He was a member of St. Mary’s RC Church in Lockport and now All Saints RC Parish, the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Mary’s Church, the UAW and the Terry’s Corners Fire Company for 50 yrs., and was a member of the Firemen Exempts’. Dick was a super papa attending all his grandchildren’s activities, sports and occasionally standing in for father daughter dances. He enjoyed the outdoors working in his yard and garden on Chestnut Ridge Road in Lockport, an avid sports fan and listening to music, especially country.

Dick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Caroline Jancetic Dye; father of Richard (Linda) Dye, Donna (David) Dye-Sholk, Debra Dye, Jonathan (Amy) Dye and Beth Dye. Grandfather of Airelle, Jessica, Bethaney, Nicholas, Jenna, Alexandra. Anna, MacKenzie, Joshua, Alexis and Megan. Dick was the brother of Pearl Johnston, Donna(Merle) Rouser, Lynn Kirsch, Eileen Trout, Margaret (Walter) Makin, and the late John, Robert, William, James, Peter, Helen and Betty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday June 20th, 4-8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 21st at 11 AM in All Saints RC Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Pendleton, NY.
