The Bisons lost the first of a double header to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Saturday at Coca-Cola Field.

The scoring got started by the Railriders in the third inning. Dustin Fowler tripled when Ian Parmley’s dive came up short and the ball rolled to the wall. With the infield in, the next batter Dustin Fowler hit a blooper to left field to score the first run of the game.

In the second, Raffy Lopez doubled down the left field line and Jason Leblebijian followed that with a single of his own to put runners on the corners. With the tying run 90-feet away, Shane Opitz delivered with a sacrifice fly to left.

The Railriders wasted little time to reclaim the lead in the fifth. Cito Culver led things off with a double and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Eddy Rodriguez picked up the RBI with a ground out to second. A single and pair of walks then loaded the bases for the Railriders. Outfielder Clint Frazier drove in a run with an infield single that was thrown away by Opitz at shortstop, allowing a second run to score on the play. Three runs in the inning gave the Railriders a 4-1 lead.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre tallied two more runs in the top of the seventh, extending their lead to 6-1.

Bisons starter Mike Bolsinger earned the loss allowing three runs on seven hits. His record has moved to 2-2 on the year.

Bisons Notes: Ian Parmley was 1-4 with a RBI… Shane Opitz was 1-2 with a RBI
