MACHIAS — A 62-year-old Machias man was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on State Route 16.
According to New York State Police, Peter T. Smith was stopped for speeding and unsafe passing and subsequently determined to be intoxicated. He was found to have a .13 percent blood alcohol content after having been taken to the Machias Troopers’ barracks for processing.
Smith was issued tickets returnable in the Town of Machias for May 2017
