WALES — A 52-year-old Sheldon man was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop.

According to New York State Police, Anthony Hilton was stopped on Strykersville Road in the Town of Wales for using his cell phone while driving. Troopers determined him to be intoxicated and took him to the Elma Troopers’ barracks where he was found to have a .14 percent blood alcohol content.

He was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Wales Court on June 15.
