UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University at Buffalo track and field program completed the first day of NCAA East Preliminaries.
Joshua Gali and Mitchell Moore competed in the men’s 400m. Gali clocked in at 47.49 to place fourth in his heat and 21st overall. His time was third fastest outside of the Top-Three from each heat. He qualified to compete in the quarterfinals of the 400m, which are Friday at 5:45pm. Mitchell Moore clocked in at 48.92 to place eighth in his heat. He will compete in the men’s 4X400 alongside teammates Gyasi Morris, Joshua Gali, and Brian Cummiskey on Saturday.
Brian Crimmins had a great showing in his heat and overall in the men’s 1500m. Crimmins is the current school record holder in the event with a time of 3:44.94. During his heat of the NCAA East Preliminaries, Crimmins clocked in at 3:50.98 for sixth in the heat and 24th overall. His time was four places and nearly one second faster than the last qualifying mark.
Brian Cummiskey competed in the men’s 100m, taking seventh in his heat with a time of 10.58. Tyler Scheving and Craig Kaiser competed in the men’s 800m. Scheving clocked in at 1:50.81 to take sixth in his heat and 31st overall. Kaiser clocked in at 1:54.05 to take seventh in his heat. Barrett Kemp clocked in at 32:39.96 in the men’s 10,000m.
Mikayla Pearce placed 30th overall in the women’s long jump with an distance of 5.98m.
Miranda Daucher will be the first to compete on Friday at 2:00pm, as she tries to claim a spot at NCAAs in the women’s discus throw. Also competing tomorrow are Selina Von Jackowski (100 hurdles, 4:30pm), Ryan Billian (110 hurdles, 5:00pm), Joshua Gali (200m, 7:55pm), and Sylvia Russell (3000m steeplechase, 8:20pm).
