LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Morgan Palmer set two personal records, including a school record, as the Purple Eagles finished their season at the 2017 MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
Meet Marks (Field)
- Morgan Palmer set a school record in the discus throw. Palmer’s discus throw of 42.30m on her fifth throw set the record while also finishing fourth to give Niagara five points. Maggie Gerard was 16th(31.71) and Erin Clark was 19th with a season-best throw (29.20m).
- In the shot put, Palmer set a personal best with a toss of 11.91m to finish 10th which was .05m away from qualifying for the finals.
Meet Marks (Track)
- In the 5000m, Kayla Murphy led Niagara with a time of 20:00.46, while Mallory Ronan had a season-best time of 20:30.45.
- The 4x100m relay team of Akira Thornton, Maggie Doyle, Jamie Guadagno and Monique McBride placed fifth in the event with a time of 50.27.
- The 4x400m relay team of Mara Skordynski, Kelly Nichols, Maggie Doyle and Rachel Wisely had a season best time of 4:10.94 to place seventh.
Erin Clark, Danielle Dorogi, Maggie Doyle, Caroline Hampton, Megan Helf, Lilly Lupinetti, Monique McBride, Jenna Minges, Kayla Murphy, Mara Skordynski, Emilee Welton and Rachel Wisley were named to the MAAC All-Academic team. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
