ALLEGANY — A 62-year-old Little Valley man was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident following an incident on Five Mile Road on Sunday.
According to New York State Police, Troopers received a report of a vehicle striking mail boxes along the Five Mile Road and eventually located a vehicle at the 7-Eleven gas station. Troopers interviewed David A Rounds, who was operating the vehicle, which had damage consistent with the accident scene. Rounds was determined to be intoxicated and taken to SP Olean for processing, where he was found to have a .20 percent blood alcohol content.
He was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Village of Allegany court for later this month.
