CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS

For the second time in three days, wet weather in Western New York has forced the Canisius softball team to change its schedule.

Saturday’s scheduled MAAC doubleheader with long-time rival Niagara has been pushed back to Sunday, May 7. First pitch of the league twinbill at the Demske Sports Complex is set for 4 p.m. Prior to the start of game one, Canisius will honor seniors Taylor DeckerSamantha Sharkey and Lindsey Silfer, who will be playing in their final home contests as Golden Griffins.

Canisius will enter the final games of the regular-season with an overall record of 20-31 to go with an 8-10 mark in league play. Niagara is 17-24 overall and 8-8 in MAAC games. The Purple Eagles have four games left on the 2017 slate, with the team set to host Siena on Monday, May 8, in Lewiston, New York.
