Edward C. Girard of Barker, NY husband of Jane Higgs Girard entered into rest Thursday, April 27, 2017 in Niagara Hospice House. He was born in New York, NY January 15, 1935 the son of the late Charles and Louisa Vallat Girard.
He was a US Marine Reserve serving his country from 1953- 1959. Married Jane Higgs in St. Patrick’s R.C. Church October 16, 1954. He worked for Town of Somerset for 23 years and for 16 years was the Highway Supt. Exempt member of Barker Fire Department, Past President of Barker Lions Club, member of Hartland Conservation Club, Opportunities Unlimited and Past President of Niagara County Highway Association. Ed enjoyed woodcarving, stain glass painting and loved to fish and hunting.
Father of Diane (Mark) Olmsted of Barker, NY, Dale Girard of Fort Mill, SC and the late Gary Girard. Grandfather of Jeff Gancasz (Dana), Shawn Gancasz (Jennifer), Katie Gancasz (T.J.), Brandon Gancasz (Vicki) and Taylor and Lauren Olmsted. Great grandfather of Nathan, Mikaila, Hayden, Parker, Aaliyah, and Joslyn. Dear friends of Mike and Daryl and his best friend “Lucky”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated MONDAY at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lake Parish (St. Patrick’s) 1726 Quaker Road Barker, NY 14012. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery.
