The Canisius outdoor track program competed in the 123rd annual Penn Relays Thursday evening from Franklin Field, with senior Brennan Root breaking his own school record in the men’s 3K steeple event, placing 16th with a time of 9:10.94.
Also running for the Griffs were sophomore Siobhan Quinn, who finished 32nd in the women’s 5K in 17:18.74 and junior Carlin Sullivan who placed 60th in the event with a time of 18:01.09.
Senior Cooper Roach rounded out the nights racing with a 25th place finish in the men’s 5k event, ending in 14:28.26.
Thursday’s running marked the only night of competition for the Griffs in the Penn Relays, with the team heading back to Buffalo for the UB Invitational this weekend.
The team will be back in action Saturday afternoon at the UB Invitational with track events beginning at 12:40 p.m.
