BUFFALO — Buffalo State football in conjunction with the Be The Match program is hosting an on-campus registration drive for the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) this Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. in the Student Union.

For thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, a cure exists.  Over the past 25 years Be The Match, operated by the NMDP, has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world.

Thousands of patients diagnosed with these life-threatening illnesses need a marrow transplant to survive. Most patients don’t have a fully matched donor in their family — and that’s when they turn to Be The Match for help.

By joining the Be The Match Registry, your tissue type will be included in the search process for every patient in need.

Keep in mind – you are not donating at the Registration Drive – you are simply having your name added to the National Donor Program to see if you are a match for a person in need.

Every three minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer.  You could be the cure.

More information about the program and ways you can support the cause can be found at bethematch.org.
