LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Purple Eagles men’s golf team completed the MAAC Championships on Sunday. The team carded a three-round total of 941 (+77) and finished in ninth place.

Christian Nizamis led Niagara, finishing tied for 15th place. He carded a 76 (+4) in the final round for a 54-hole total of 231 (+15).

Ben Conroy carded a 77 (+5) in round three and shot 233 (+17) total. He finished tied for 19th place.

Daniel Weimer moved up eight spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 24th place. He carded a 74 (+2), his best score of the tournament, in round three for a 235 (+19) total.

Nicco Gentile finished tied for 37th place and Ryan Mihok took 44th. Gentile carded a 242 (+26) total and Mihok carded a 260 (+44).

The MAAC announced the 2017 All-Academic teams following the final round of play. Two Purple Eagles were honored: Matt Lesinski and Alexander Matovic.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

The Purple Eagles will take the course next for the fall 2017 season.
