The Canisius golf team returns to action April 15 for the 36-hole Battle at the Warren, hosted by the University of Notre Dame.

The Golden Griffins will be one of three schools in the field, joining the host Fighting Irish while also playing against Detroit Mercy. Canisius is taking part in this event for the second-straight year.

The Battle at the Warren will be played at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind. The course, which was designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore, opened in 1999. A classic links-designed track, the course generally plays as a par-71 and measures out at 7,023 yards. For this event, the Warren Course will play as a par-70 at 6,317 yards. The course is still recovery from damage from flodding late last summer. Since opening, this public track has played host to dozens of high-profile golf events, including USGA, NCAA and Western Golf Associations tournaments. The Warren Golf Course will be the site of the 2018 U.S. Senior Open.

The Battle at the Warren will be Canisius’ final tune-up before the 2017 MAAC Golf Championships, which will run from April 21-23 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
