ROCHESTER — Catarra Burroughs (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) helped Buffalo State to a pair of first place finishes and a two school records fell today at the ROC City Classic hosted by Nazareth College.

Burroughs joined Dayonna Holmes (Rochester/Charlotte), Satin Holmes (Rochester/Wilson Magnet), and Keanna McKnight (Queens/Springfield Gardens) to begin the day with a win in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 49.46 seconds. She also crossed first in the 200-meter dash (25.45). Cheila Diao (Latham/Shaker) finished third in the hammer throw with a school-record mark of 43.64 meters. Elizabeth Wall (Horseheads/Horseheads), Brittany Higgs (Buffalo/Olmstead), Jaclyn Tedesco (Cheektowaga/Cleveland Hill) and Ronni Kordrupel (East Aurora/Iroquois) also set a new school mark, placing third in the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 9:54.14. Dayonna Holmes was fourth in the 200-meter (25.78) and joined McKnight, Ashley Lyons (Freeport/Freeport) and Tiffany Raymond (Baldwin/Baldwin) to place second in the 4×400-meter relay (4:05.44). Dajah Plummer (Cambria Heights/QHST) added a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (12.69).

Buffalo State will visit Mount Union next Saturday.
