ROCHESTER — The Niagara Purple Eagles continue their season at the 2017 ROC City Classic hosted by Nazareth College at the Golden Flyer Stadium on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Freshman Morgan Palmer set a school record in the discus throw en route to claiming first place in the event at the SUNY Geneseo Early Season Invite. Palmer’s fourth throw went 40.95m. Sophomore Maggie Gerard finished seventh in the discus throw with a personal best of 34.40m. Freshman Elizabeth Suhay had a top-10 placement in the long jump. Suhay finished 10th (4.81m).
Three Purple Eagles – Jamie Guadagno, Maggie Gerard and Alex Laubert – finished in the top-10 in their respective events at the 22nd Annual Monmouth Season Opener. Jamie Guadagno placed ninth in the long jump (4.75m), Maggie Gerard finished the shot put in ninth place (11.82m), and freshman Alex Laubert ran the 100m hurdles in 16.62 which was good enough for eighth place.
