WASHINGTON – Former University at Buffalo offensive lineman John Kling has signed a free agent contract with the Washington Redskins, the team announced on Thursday. Kling originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears following his career at UB, but was later waived.

Kling was the anchor of UB’s offensive line, starting all 12 games at left tackle for the Bulls in 2015. He helped pave the way for an offense that rushed for 1,643 yards and passed for 2,994 yards on the season and was named All-MAC Second Team. The durable Kling started the final 29 games of his career.

Kling is looking to become the fourth UB player to make an NFL roster as an offensive lineman, joining Ed Ellis, Jamey Richard and Kristjan Sokoli.
