NIAGARA UNIV. — The Niagara women’s golf team begins its spring schedule at the Seahawk Invitational in Littlestown, Pa. on April 2-3.
The team completed the fall portion of its schedule in October 2016. The Purple Eagles competed in four events; the Bison Invitational, the Golden Grizzlies Invitational, the Roseann Schwartz Invitational and the Lehigh Invitational.
The Purple Eagles turned out their best finish of the fall at the Bison Invitational, taking third place. Junior Emily Doyle carded a two-day total of 152 (+12) and finished the tournament in second place.
Following the Seahawk Invitational, Niagara will play in the Navy Spring Invitational (April 8-9) and play a match at Saint Francis University on April 13. The MAAC Championships will be held April 20-23 at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course in Orlando, Fla.
Niagara received 29 points in the preseason coaches’ poll and was picked to finish seventh.
