SHENANDOAH, Texas — Buffalo State’s Connor Mergler (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) touched 20th in the 100 free today at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the Conroe Independent School District Natatorium, one day after also placing 20th in the 50 free.
The junior posted a personal season-best time, clocking 139.50, to place 20th among the 47 competitors, finishing 0.24 seconds shy of advancing to this evening’s consolation finals.
Mergler will have one more chance to earn All-America honors when he competes in the 100 free on Saturday. He enters the event with the eighth-fastest seed time and placed fourth last year.
