Well it was grilling time for me this week because the weather was beautiful. I did a sirloin steak and have been anxious to try those potato stacks that they show on one of my facebook pages. For the steak first.

  • 2# sirloin steak, pierce several times with a fork.
  • 2T. Fresh chopped garlic
  • 1T. Kosher salt
  • 2t. Ground black pepper
  • 2T. Soy sauce
  • 1T. Balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4c. Vegetable oil

Mix all this together into a gallon ziploc bag, and then add your piece of meat, close the bag, and massage the mix all over the meat, and let sit and marinade for a minimum of 30 minutes, up to 2 hours. Pull out the refrigerator about 20 minutes, before you are ready to grill it, you never want to put cold food on a hot cooking surface, it will cause it to toughen up. Prepare your grilling surface, if it is charcoal, you want to do medium heat ash, if it’s  propane, you are going to grill over medium heat, 2-3 minutes per side, for a nice medium rare steak, let it rest for 3-4 minutes before slicing the meat. Slice meat on the bias, and plate and serve.

The potatoes stacks, I used the recipe off of facebook. The only thing I will do different next time is when I pick my potato, pay attention to the size so it fits in the muffin pan better, that gave met a little bit of a problem.

  • 3 each Yukon gold potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1/2 stick of butter, melted
  • 2T. Garlic salt
  • 1T. Chopped parsley
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese

Mix all this together in a bowl. Add your potato slices, and stir together until all pieces have the mixture on them. Spray the muffin pan with non stick cooking spray, layer the potato slices one on top one another, each is different it will depend on how thick your slices are.

This should yield you about 12 potato stacks.
Bake 350 for 50-60 minutes until tender. Let rest in pans 5 minutes, and then remove, serve, and enjoy.
