BUFFALO — University at Buffalo men’s tennis sophomore Ethan Nittolo has been named the Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.  This was the first honor for the Bulls this season.

Nittolo won a pair of matches for UB this past weekend at sixth singles.  He began the weekend on Saturday with an easy 6-1, 6-2 victory over Mike Plutt of Bryant and then followed that up with UB’s lone singles win against Princeton on Sunday as he defeated Jimmy Wasserman, 6-2, 0-6, 6-4.

Nittolo has won five straight singles matches and he leads the Bulls with a 6-2 dual record and a 16-7 overall record.

The Bulls, who played five Ivy League opponents during their non-conference season, will be off for the next week before beginning Mid-American Conference play on March 17 at Binghamton.
