BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres and Philadelphia Flyers traded goals through a period and a half of hockey at KeyBank Center tonight. Then the game got away from Buffalo.
In the end, the Sabres fell to Philly, 6-3, despite Jack Eichel scoring his 17th and 18th of the year and Evander Kane netting an impressive 24th of the 2016-2017 season. Eichel and Kane each grabbed an assist, as well, giving them three- and two-point nights respectively.
Philadelphia goals were scored by Matt Read, Radko Gudas, Jordan Weal, Claude Giroux, Chris VanDevelde, and Travis Konecny.
With the loss, the Sabres record now stands at 27-28-12 for 66 points — six points shy of the last Wild Card slot in the Eastern Conference.
