
Buffalo State junior Mohamed Kouyate (Bronx/Dreamyard Prep) was officially selected to vie for a national championship in the 400-meter dash this weekend at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Ill.
Kouyate enters the meet with the 12th-fastest time in the nation this season, clocking a season-best time of 49.03 seconds at the SUNYAC Championships on Feb. 24. Kouyate won the conference championship in the event for the second-consecutive year and is in search of his first All-America certificate.
Kouyate will run the prelims on Friday at 2:20 p.m. CST. Should he qualify in the top-8 in the 15-runner field, he will advance to the finals on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. CST.
