BROCKPORT — Dayonna Holmes (Rochester/Charlotte) and Catarra Burroughs (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) each earned second team All-Conference honors to lead Buffalo State to a fifth-place finish at the eight-team SUNYAC Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at the College at Brockport.

Dayonna Holmes earned second team All-SUNYAC honors as runner-up in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.76 seconds.  She also placed fourth in the long jump (5.59m) and fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.99). Burroughs also garnered second team All-SUNYAC honors, sprinting to a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash in 7.85 seconds.  She also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (25.89). The Bengals placed third in the distance medley relay with the team of Elizabeth Wall (Horseheads/Horseheads), Sabeena Morgan (Brooklyn/Jefferson), Jaclyn Tedesco (Cheektowaga/Cleveland Hill) and Kordrupel posting a time of 12:41.85.

Ronni Kordrupel (East Aurora/Iroquois) was fifth in the 800-meter run (2:21.28), and Tiffany Raymond (Baldwin/Baldwin) placed fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:00.01). Raymond and Morgan also joined Ashley Lyons (Freeport/Freeport) and Brittany Higgs (Buffalo/Olmstead) to place fourth in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:05.55. Satin Holmes (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) crossed seventh in the 60-meter dash (8.04). Dajah Plummer (Cambria Heights/QHST) was eighth in the 200-meter dash (26.87). Mackenzie Myott (S. Glens Falls/S. Glens Falls) finished tied for eighth in the pole vault, clearing 3.05 meters.

The final team scores were as follows: 1. Geneseo (205.5), 2. Brockport (108.5); 3. Oneonta (96); 4. Cortland (72.5); 5. Buffalo State (56.5); 6. Plattsburgh (47); 7. Fredonia (45); 8. Oswego (32).
Buffalo State earned two points in the all sports “Battle by the Lake” rivalry competition by finishing ahead of Fredonia.

Buffalo State will now wait on the selections for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Naperville, Ill. on March 10 and 11.
