BOLIVAR — A 56-year-old Bolivar man, stopped for an equipment violation on Saturday, was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

According to New York State Police, Frederick R. McDonald was stopped on Salt Rising Road and determined to be intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to SP Amity for processing where he refused to submit to a chemical test.

McDonald’s license was revoked for a previous DWI conviction, resulting in the aggravated unlicensed operation charge. He was arraigned before the Town of Bolivar Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail/$1500 bond. He is scheduled to appear before the Village of Bolivar Court on April 5.
