NIAGARA UNIVERSITY — The N.U. Purple Eagles women’s basketball team will host Saint Peter’s at 3 p.m. Saturday at Gallagher Center.

Most recently, the Purple Eagles dropped a last second heartbreaker to Siena, 70-68, on Thursday. Victoria Rampado led Niagara in scoring with 22 points. She also brought down six rebounds. Kaylee Stroemple had a team-high nine rebounds and five assists, as well as adding 16 points for the Purple Eagles.

Redshirt-junior forward Rampado leads the Purple Eagles in scoring with 16.8 points per game and in rebounding with 7.9 rebounds per game. Rampado is tied for first in the MAAC in scoring and is tied for second in rebounding. Junior forward Stroemple also averages in double figure scoring with 13.0 points per game. She is 11th in the MAAC in scoring. Stroemple has the second-best field goal percentage in the MAAC; she is 136-for-263 for a percentage of 51.7. Jamie Sherburne has the seventh-most assists in the MAAC with 3.0 assists per game. Niagara is second in the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage; the team is 147-for-455 (32.3%), is second in free throw percentage (75.8%) and is fourth in the MAAC in overall field goal percentage (40.1%).

Junior guard Talah Hughes leads the Peacocks in scoring, averaging 12.7 points per game. She is tied for 13th in the MAAC in scoring. Hughes is fifth in the MAAC in field goal percentage (47.6%) and eighth in the MAAC in blocked shots (0.8 blocks per game). Sajanna Bethea, a junior forward, lead Saint Peter’s in rebounding with 5.6 rebounds per game. She has the 17th-most rebounds in the MAAC. Freshman guard Sammy Lochner averages a team-best 2.8 assists per game and junior forward Samantha Meier averages a team-high 1.0 steals per game. Overall, the Peacocks are fourth in the MAAC in blocked shots with 3.3 blocks per game and fifth in the MAAC in free throw percentage (71.8%).

The Purple Eagles take on Rider on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. and Monmouth on  Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. for their final road trip of the regular season.
