The stingy Buffalo defense helped lift the Bulls to their seventh MAC win of the season on Wednesday night on the road at Eastern Michigan, 56-52. The Bulls held the Eagles to just 38.2% shooting for the game while forcing 18 Eastern Michigan turnovers in the win. Junior point guard Stephanie Reid had a solid night for the Bulls as she led the team with 14 points, eight assists and two steals while freshman Theresa Onwuka came off the bench and supplied the Bulls with 12 points and seven rebounds. UB improved to 13-0 this season when holding their opponents to 59 points or less.

This marks the 25th meeting of all-time between the two programs with both sides deadlocked, 22-22. The inaugural game between the Bulls and the Zips took place on Feb. 2, 1992. They have played at least two times annually since 1998-99. From the 1999-2000 season to 2007-08, the Bulls won 15 of 18 contests played. Akron won two of the three meetings last season with the lone Buffalo victory coming in the MAC semifinal game to help lift UB to their first MAC Championship.
