OSWEGO — Rachel Lenard (Orchard Park, NY/Nardin) scored twice against her former team as Buffalo State defeated host No. 8 Oswego, 2-1, this afternoon in an ECAC West contest.

Lenard, who played a season-and-a-half at Oswego before transferring to Buffalo State last January, opened the scoring with an unassisted tally in the first period. The Lakers evened the score with a power-play marker in the middle frame. Lenard netted her second of the game and 10th of the season with less than five remaining in the third period with and assist from Megan Reukauf (Depew, NY/Lancaster) which proved to be the game-winner. Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) turned aside 27 of the 28 shots she faced for the victory. Each team recorded 28 shots on goal in an evenly matched contest. The Lakers finished 1 for 4 on the power play, while the Bengals were 0 for 3.

Buffalo State will play at Oswego again Sunday at 3 p.m. The Bengals can clinch a home playoff game with a win or a tie.
