BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo swimming and diving team is headed to Ohio State University for the OSU Invitational this upcoming weekend. The swimming and diving team is coming off a very successful weekend where they swept Cleveland State and MAC Swimmers of the Week. The men defeated Cleveland 149-94 with nine first place finishes, while the women defeated Cleveland 160-83 with ten first place finishes.

Hudson Carroll saw two individual first place finishes and one first place relay finish. Carroll clocked in at 23.40 in the 50 Back for first place. He led the way for his teammates in the 100 Back; clocking in at 50.44 for another first place finish. Hudson helped lead his 200 Free Relay team to a first place finish; with the team overall clocking in at 1:22.20. He was also a member of the second place 200 Medley Relay team with a time of 1:31.47. Julia Box had a stellar performance for the Bulls in their 160-83 win over Cleveland State this past weekend. Box had two individual first place finishes and was a member of a first place relay team. Box clocked in at 55.94 in the 100 Fly for first place and 56.18 in the 100 Back for first place. She was a member of the first place 200 Free Relay team; helping to clock in at 1:34.66. She also helped pace the 200 Medley Relay team to a second place finish with a time of 1:49.19.

The women saw multiple first place finishes from Hannah Miller, Megan Burns, and Sarah Baxter against Cleveland State. Miller took first in the 200 Free and 500 Free, M. Burns in the 50 Back and 100 Free, and Baxter in the 50 Free and 50 Fly. Box and M. Burns were also members of the first place 200 Free Relay team alongside Andrea Ernst and Catherine Schultheis.

Itai De La Vega and Charles Barry each had multiple first place finishes as well. De La Vega placed first in the 100 Breast and 50 Breast, and Barry in the 500 Free and 400 IM. De La Vega and Carroll were also both members of the first place 200 Free Relay team along with teammates Eric Jensen and Mason Miller. Jensen and Miller each added an additional first place finish in their respective individual events. Jensen took first in the 200 Free, while Miller took first in the 100 Free.


The OSU Invitational is set to begin Saturday.
