BUFFALO — Morrisville netted eight goals on just 18 shots to shock host No. 10/12 Buffalo State, 8-2, in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Ice Arena.

Taylor Pryce (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal Carter) converted on a pass from Roberts Smits (Riga, Latvia) into his 10th goal of the season to open the scoring for Buffalo State just 2:50 into the game. Morrisville edged ahead with a pair of goals just 33 seconds apart midway through the frame, but Zach Remers (Clarence, NY/Canisius) evened the score at 2-2 before the first intermission with his eighth of the season.

The Mustangs netted the only goal of the second period to reclaim a lead they would not relinquish.
Pryce appeared to even the score with a breakaway goal in the final minute of the middle frame, but the referee deemed the net had been knocked off before the puck crossed the line.

Things came undone for the Bengals from there, as Morrisville netted five goals on six shots in the third period, including an empty-netter, to pull away. The Mustangs were 3 for 6 on the power play, while the Bengals finished 0 for 6. Buffalo State dominate much of the game, outshooting Morrisville, 43-18. Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, NY/Pawling) surrendered five goals on 14 shots, before Andrei Svistunov (Moscow, Russia) allowed two goals on three shots in relief.
