AKRON, Ohio – The Bulls had another outstanding performance in track and field on Saturday. The team saw another school record broken and several personal records broken.
Joshua Gali had an amazing performance on the track in the 200m. Gali took first place with a time of 21.25; breaking the school record in the event that had stood for ten years. His time is also currently first in the Mid-American Conference. Right behind him in second place was teammate Ryan Billian, who also nearly broke the school record in the event with a time of 21.53. Billian also hit a new personal record in the long jump, distancing 24′ 7.75″, ranking third in the MAC currently. Craig Kaiser also found his way into the record books. Kaiser finished the mile run in 4:10.44, landing him in the Top-Five All-Time Performances for indoor.
The freshmen are having a fantastic debut for the Bulls. Sylvia Russell hit a new personal record in the 3000m, clocking in at 9:58.02 for a second place finish. This is the fastest time for a Buffalo freshman in the event, and comes just one week after Stephanie Ward set that precedent last weekend.
The Bulls have been improving each weekend. With MACs only a couple short weeks away, they are ready to make a statement.
The next competition for the Bulls is Friday when they travel back to Geneva, Ohio.
