BUFFALO — Bri Carroll (Peoria, AZ/AZ Virtual Academy) tallied two goals and an assist and Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) made 32 saves to lead Buffalo State to a lopsided 6-0 home victory over Neumann this evening in an ECAC West contest.

Natasha Steinle (Morrison, CO/CIHA) added a pair of goals for the Bengals in the win, while Erin Gehen (W. Seneca, NY/W. Seneca West) and Viivi Vaattovaara (Veikkola, Finland) chipped in a goal and an assist apiece. Madeline Kromer (Angola, NY/Lake View) tallied a pair of helpers.
Carroll opened the scoring just 2:08 into the contest and the score remained 1-0 after the opening 20 minutes. Vaattovaara wristed a shot through a screen on the power play early in the second period to extend the lead with her second goal of the season. Carroll added an unassisted shorthanded tally for her second of the game and eighth of the year later in the frame.

Buffalo State pulled away in the final stanza, tacking on three more goals. Gehen wristed home her 15th of the season, followed by Steinle’s ninth and 10th of the season to close out the scoring. Buffalo State finished with a 35-32 advantage in shots on goal.

The Bengals and Knights will clash again Saturday at the Ice Arena at 4 p.m.
