BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo wrestling team will close out its home schedule by hosting a pair of Mid-American duals this weekend. Buffalo will host Eastern Michigan on Friday night at 7 pm and Central Michigan on Sunday at 2pm.

The Bulls are on a roll of late, winning seven of their last eight dual matches. Bryan Lantry (133) continues to climb the national rankings – he’s 16th in the latest InterMat rankings. James Benjamin (197) currently ranks 20th in the nation.

On Friday, the Bulls will host Eastern Michigan. The Eagles are 5-5 on the season with a 1-4 mark in MAC duals. Buffalo leads the all-time series, 12-9, however Eastern Michigan has won the last three meetings.

On Sunday, Buffalo will host Central Michigan. The Bulls are in search of their first ever win over the Chippewas. CMU is 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the MAC on the season. The Chippewas have five nationally ranked wrestlers, including Collin Heffernan, the nation’s seventh-ranked wrestler at 157 lbs.

Sunday will also be Senior Day as five Bulls will be competing at their final duals at Alumni Arena. James Benjamin, Colt Cotten, Muhamed McBryde, Tyler Rill and Ryan Therrien will be honored prior to the match.


Both matches will air on ESPN3.
