BUFFALO — Canisius junior Travis Wright has been named MAAC Male Diver of the Week after winning the one and three-meter events at the Fredonia Diving Invite, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Wright scored a 371.85 in the one-meter event and posted a 383.85 in the three meter, both marking season best scores for the junior diver.
The invite marked the completion of the 2016-17 regular season for the Canisius diving program, with the team now preparing for the MAAC Championships to be held at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo Feb. 8-11.
With his strong diving this year, Wright has also qualified for the Zone A Diving Championship to be held at the Virginia Tech Christianburg Aquatic Center March 6-8.
Wright, who placed first in all but one of his dives this season, has been named the MAAC Male Diver of the Week six times this season.
