The Bulls placed first in several different events at Bowling Green. Junior Hannah Miller placed first in three individual events: 1000 Free, 500 Free, and 200 Free. Megan Burns was successful in the pool again, placing first in two individual events and two relay events. Burns took first in the 50 Free and 100 Free and swam anchor for the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays. Julia Box was also a multiple first place finisher – taking first in the 200 Fly, 100 Fly, and a member of the 200 Medley Relay team.
The Bulls saw success in the diving well at Bowling Green as well. Abbey Croce took first on both the one- and three-meter dives; with teammate Mackenzie Moss taking second on both dives as well. Valerie Lortie took third on the one-meter and fourth on the three-meter; while Kelly Moran took fourth on the one-meter and sixth on the three-meter dives.
The men also saw a lot of success in Miami (OH), beating the redhawks with a score of 177-119. The men took first in all but two events at the meet, and second through fourth on both diving boards. The Bulls had many athletes that had multiple first place finishes. Reid Zyniecki and Mason Miller both saw multiple first place finishes. Zyniecki took first in the 1000 Free and 500 Free; while Miller took first in the 100 Fly and 50 Free. The 200 Medley Relay team of Hudson Carroll, Itai De La Vega, Mason Miller, and Garrett Clarke saw a first place finish and landed in tenth place in Buffalo’s All-Time Top-10 Performances. Carroll also saw a first place finish in the 100 Back. De La Vega saw another first place finish, this time in the 100 Breast. Clarke took first in the 200 Breast, with teammate Scott Huang coming in a close second. Huang saw a first place finish in the 400 IM. Freshman Joseph Puglessi had a stellar performance for the Bulls, he took first in the 200 Back with a time that was almost two seconds faster than second place.
In the diving well, the Bulls placed second through fourth on both boards. Nick Rodriguez led the way with in second place for both the one- and three-meter dives. Dan Roche took third, Troy Birdsall took fourth, and Kristian Santos took fifth on the one-meter dive. On the three-meter dive, Roche and Birdsall switched placing Birdsall in third and Roche in fourth. Santos finished in sixth on the dive.
The men and women currently trail St. Bonaventure in the All-Time Series 17-29 (men) and 17-23 (women). The meet against the Bonnies is set to begin at 4 p.m. Friday.
The Bulls are also welcoming Eastern Michigan this weekend on Saturday at 1 p.m. The team will be celebrating their seniors on Saturday, introductions will start at 12:40 pm.
