BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres jumped to a quick start, scoring all the goals they needed to win against the Dallas Stars in the first period this afternoon at KeyBank Center as they won, 4-1.

Tyler Ennis got the Sabres on the board early with an unassisted goal just 19 seconds into regulation. Jake McCabe followed up on Ennis’ goal at 12:34 of the first. His power play goal was also unassisted. Dallas made a game of it at 15:14 with a goal by Radek Farska. Jiri Hudler assisted on the even strength goal.

In the second period, Jack Eichel scored his ninth of the season at 7:07. The power play goal was assisted by Sam Reinhart and Kyle Okposo.

Eichel added an empty-netter with 10 seconds to play in regulation and the Dallas net empty in favor of an extra skater. That goal was also unassisted.

The win puts the Sabres back at .500 with a 17-17-9 record.

The Sabres next play Tuesday night in Toronto against the Maple Leafs.
